I have a habit of using my own website as an excuse to build things. A command palette, reading modes, a floating nav. All fun to make, though I’m not sure anyone needed a choice of reading modes for the handful of posts I’d written.
I liked the individual bits, but together they felt a bit like a component library with a blog attached. So I spent some time simplifying it.
There’s less going on now, and I’m happier with it. I kept the butter yellow from my app, Butter, and gave the projects and writing a bit more room.
Of course, fiddling with the website is also a very good way of avoiding writing anything for it. So here’s a post.
